What we do

Products

Gestamp designs, develops, and manufactures a wide range of highly engineered products that are integrated into the vehicle's structure. Specifically, its portfolio includes Body-in-White, chassis, and mechanisms components (Edscha Gestamp).

In addition, Gestamp's activity covers every stage of component manufacturing, spanning the entire value chain. This ranges from building presses (Loire Gestamp) and the dies used for stamping to the design, development, and series production of the product using state-of-the-art technologies.

Gestamp Body-in-White components

Body-in-White

Body-in-White (BIW) products form the vehicle's structure, and their crash behavior is crucial for the safety of passengers and other road users.

In addition, Body-in-White components have a major impact on vehicle weight, which is highly significant in terms of energy savings and CO₂ emissions. The lower the weight, the lower the emissions and, in the case of electric vehicles, the greater the battery range.

Gestamp works and innovates to make its Body-in-White components increasingly safe in the event of a crash while also making them lighter, thereby contributing to cleaner mobility with a lower environmental impact.

Gestamp offers a broad and innovative portfolio of Body-in-White products, including:

  • Engineering parts, such as pillars and rails, which are key to crash protection
  • Ges-Gigastamping®, large structural parts that optimize final assembly times and are more efficient and safer
  • Energy Unit Systems (battery boxes)
  • Modular body elements
  • Crash management systems
  • Other exterior "skin" components, such as hoods and roofs, which form the car's visible outer shell
Gestamp chassis components

Chassis

Gestamp has extensive experience in producing chassis parts. Given how important these products are to vehicle comfort, dynamics, performance, and safety, Gestamp offers innovative solutions that go one step further in terms of lightweighting and safety.

The chassis forms the lower part of the vehicle structure. It includes systems, frames, and related parts, such as front and rear axles and subframes, control arms, and integrated links. These connect the car's body and powertrain and support the vehicle's weight. These structures are essential to vehicle dynamics, performance, and safety, and they particularly affect noise, vibration, ride, and crash behavior.

To meet the demands of new mobility, Gestamp's solutions include modular chassis architectures optimized for multi-energy applications (ICE, BEV, and hybrid). They ensure structural integrity, optimized performance, and cost efficiency. In addition, these chassis solutions are designed together with the Body-in-White to improve crash performance.

Edscha Gestamp mechanisms and mechatronics

Mechanisms and Mechatronics Edscha Gestamp

Through Edscha Gestamp, Gestamp designs, develops, and manufactures vehicle mechanisms such as hinges (which allow doors and hoods to open and close), door checks, electrical systems, and remote-control devices. These components play an important role in comfort and in safety, for both passengers and other road users.

Mechatronics is one of the company's business lines. It combines mechanical engineering with advanced electronic control systems to create powered opening systems for all vehicle segments.

As a result, Edscha Gestamp is one of the world's largest suppliers of hinge systems and a leader in drive systems for fully automatic opening and closing of doors, hoods, and tailgates.

Dies Tooling

Gestamp has in-house capabilities to develop and manufacture dies, which allow it to cover the entire value chain: design, machining, construction, tryout, prototyping, follow-up, and maintenance.

This way, Gestamp keeps the highest level of expertise in both cold and hot stamping processes within the group, optimizing quality while staying committed to cost.

Loire Gestamp presses

Presses Loire Gestamp

Loire Gestamp is the Gestamp subsidiary that specializes in the design, manufacturing, modernization, and optimization of presses and stamping lines. It combines the latest technologies with extensive experience to deliver top performance to its customers. It also offers great flexibility to tailor its products to the specific needs of each project.

Loire Gestamp has expanded its portfolio from its original hydraulic presses to the most advanced mechanical servo presses. The portfolio now includes hot stamping lines, cold stamping lines, mechanical servo presses (which combine the advantages of traditional hydraulic and mechanical presses), hydraulic presses with servo pumps, hydroforming, stand-alone hydraulic presses, and line automation and integration.

Loire Gestamp acts as a global service provider that supports customers throughout the entire lifecycle of their industrial assets, not just in manufacturing the equipment.
